New Orleans and sewer board named in personal injury suit

A New Orleans woman is suing the city and its sewer board after she allegedly slipped and fell in water from a leaking drain pipe.

Keisha Johnson filed a lawsuit against the city of New Orleans and the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans on Nov. 15 in Orleans Parish District Court.

Johnson says she was walking in front of a home on Spain Street when she slipped and fell in water that was leaking from a city drain.

Johnson accuses the city and the sewer board for negligence for allowing the drain to leak and create a hazard. She is asking for an unspecified amount of money to pay for her medical expenses and attorney fees.

Attorney Louis A. Gerdes Jr. of New Orleans is representing Johnson.
