Captain sues after injuring right eye

A sea captain has filed a lawsuit against his employer after being hit in the right eye by a piece of metal.

Anthony Guidry filed suit against Suard Companies Inc. on April 6 in federal court in New Orleans.

Guidry was employed by Suard Companies as a Captain on July 13, 2009, when the incident occurred. He states he was working in the Suard yard when he was struck in the right eye by a piece of metal. According to the lawsuit, the incident caused permanently disabling injuries.

Guidry alleges the accident was caused by the negligence of the defendant and their employees.

The plaintiff is seeking damages for mental anguish, pain and suffering, loss of income, maintenance, cure, interest and court costs.

Guidry is represented by Stephen J. Johnson and Louis J. St. Martin.

U.S. District Judge Jay C. Zainey is assigned to the case.
