Harrah's sued by man allegedly hit in eye by roulette ball

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish man is suing a local casino for injuries he claims to have received as a patron of the business.

Hung Nguyen filed suit on Feb. 24 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Harrah's New Orleans Casino.

Nguyen claims he was at the casino when he was hit in the left eye by an errant roulette ball. The plaintiff alleges he received serious, painful injuries due to the incident. The defendant is accused of failing to maintain customer safety, failing to protect the safety of its customers, failing to maintain the premises and failing to take steps to avoid incident.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of income.

Nguyen is being represented by Brian J. Branch of New Orleans-based Edward J. Womac and Associates.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Lloyd J. Medley.
