DONALDSONVILLE – An Ascension Parish woman is suing a local steak house franchise over injuries she claims to have incurred on their property.
Catherine D. Rodriguez filed suit on April 24 against Outback Steakhouse of Florida, Richard Johnson, OSI/FLeming's and Wells Fargo Insurance.
According to the suit, Rodriguez alleges she was exiting a booth at the restaurant after completing her meal when she slipped in a foreign substance and hit her head on the table before falling to the ground. The plaintiff claims the owners, operators, and franchisees are at fault for her alleged injuries.
The defendants are accused of failing to maintain the the premises, failing to inspect the floor, failing to remove hazards, failing to warn of a dangerous condition including not placing warning signs over the danger, failing to properly train personnel and failing to exercise a proper degree of care.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical bills, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life and disability.
Rodriguez is being represented by Richard C. Breaux of Thibodeaux-based the Block Law Firm.
The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Guy Holdridge.
