Shoring company sues homeowners for non-payment

GRETNA – A Harahan-based shoring company is suing a Marrero couple for non-payment of services.

Orleans Shoring, LLC filed suit against Gaynelle and Wardell Vontoure in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 9.

Orleans Shoring claims it entered into a construction contract for elevating the Vontoure's home located at 6701 Carver Drive in Marrero. The plaintiff alleges that after devoting labor, services, materials and equipment to the job, which it completed, payment was not provided.

The defendant is accused of breaching the construction contract.

Damages in the amount of $5,233.99 plus applicable attorney's fees are sought. The plaintiffs have also requested a lien be place on the defendant's home.

Orleans Shoring is represented by Harahan-based attorney Jason Wade.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Robert M. Murphy.
