Construction company sued for breach of contract

BATON ROUGE – A Greensburg fabricating company is suing a Metairie construction company for alleged breach of contract.

Southland Steel Fabricators Inc. filed suit against Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America and Citadel Builders LLC in the 19th Judicial Court on Nov. 13.

The plaintiff claims it was subcontracted to Citadel on the New Elementary School at Parkview School project. Southland Steel Fabricators allegedly provided structural steel work on the project for Citadel, and were never paid.

The plaintiff claims the defendants were paid in full, but have refused to pay Southland Steel Fabricators the amount they are owed. The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Southland Steel is seeking $271,277.33 together with penalties, interest, court costs and attorney's fees.

Southland Steel Fabricators is represented by Craig L. Kaster of Kaster and Cop LLC in Zachary.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Kay Bates.
