GRETNA – A Nevada woman is suing a local motel for injuries she claims to have received in a fall at its premises.

Janet Ruth Woodward, and husband Gary Woodward, filed suit against Trans Inn Management, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Hotel Services, Inc. the Phoenix Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance Company and an unknown insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 26. Woodward claims she was staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Kenner when she fell in her hotel room.

The filing makes no mention of what the plaintiff fell on or what hazardous condition existed in the room. Woodward claims asserts that she was severely injured and disabled in the fall.

The defendant is accused of failing to keep the premises in a safe condition, failing to instruct employees as to proper maintenance of the facility, failing to warn guests of unsafe conditiona and creating and allowing a hazardous condition.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, property damage, loss of earnings, loss of earning capacity,

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen S. Kovach.
