GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish couple is suing a construction company which lifted their home after damages from a recent hurricane.
Mark and Tracey Marcev filed suit against North American Specialty Insurance Company, Aegis Innovative Solutions and , Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court. The Marcevs claim they contracted with Crescent City Construction to raise their home in 2006 and that the home appeared to have been raised properly until it was struck by Hurricane Isaac in August 2012. The plaintiffs allege that problems arising from the hurricane include major structural defects that fail to meet building codes. The Marcevs assert that all work completed by the defendants is subject to a 10-year warranty.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract and breach of warranty.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for return of all payments made by the plaintiffs, monetary damages caused by the defendant’s deficient work, all architectural fees plaintiffs incurred due to the insufficient and incomplete work, consequential damages, loss of use of the property, interest and attorney’s fees and costs.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Hans J.Liljeberg.
