GRETNA – A Kansas-based corporation is suing a Barataria man for unpaid bills linked to work done on a fishing camp following a hurricane.
RTI, a division of Page Corporation, filed suit against Theophile Bourgeois in the 24th Judicial District Court. RTI claims it did water mitigation and dehumidifying work on a fishing camp owned by Bourgeois and located at 2785 Privateer Blvd. in Barataria. The plaintiff alleges that the camp was flooded during Hurricane Irene in 2011 and that Bourgeois agreed to pay the costs of the work with any insurance claims he received for the damages.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $29,425.23 plus attorney’s fees, court costs and 1.5 percent per month on all unpaid amounts are sought by the plaintiff.
RTI is represented by Timothy W. Cerniglia of the Barataria-based The Law Office of Timothy W. Cerniglia.
The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen S. Kovach.
