GRETNA – A Picayune, Miss. man is suing a local Wal-Mart over an alleged slip and fall incident.
Todd Mitchell filed suit against Wal-Mart Lousiaiana, LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 12.
Mitchell claims he was shopping at the Wal-Mart located in Kenner when he slipped in a slippery substance and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges that he sustained injuries to his body and mind in the incident including specific injuries to his low back and neck.
The defendant is accused of failing to keep the stores premises in a reasonable condition, failing to keep the premises free of any hazard, failing to keep the store in a reasonably safe condition, lack of proper inspection, lacking a proper policy to maintain the store and failing to warn by placing signs in hazardous area.
Damages exceeding $50,000 are sought for medical expenses, mental anguish, physical pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life’s pleasures and loss of earnings.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Robert M. Murphy.
