Local business sued by waste removal service for more than $16K

GRETNA – A waste management company is suing Jefferson Parish business and its owner for not allegedly not paying for waste removal services.

Waste Management of Louisiana LLC and Waste Management of South MS – Natchez filed suit against Douglas Cook Enterprises and Douglas Cook in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 8.

The plaintiffs claim they were not paid for providing trash removal services to Douglas Cook Enterprises and Douglas Cook. The defendants allegedly owe $16,309.59 in overdue fees for the services rendered.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract, unjust enrichment and breach of personal guarantee.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for $16,309.59 together with pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and reasonable attorney’s fees.

The plaintiffs are represented by Sandra Sutak of New Orleans-based Krebs, Farley & Pelleteri PLLC.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
