NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing a Marrero-based non-profit development company he claims took possession of his property without paying him.
Ruben Terry Vinnet Jr. filed suit against the People’s Community Subsidiary Inc., a nonprofit organization, in the Orleans Parish Central District Court on June 6.
Vinnet allegedly sold three pieces of property to the defendant for which claims he never received payment. The plaintiff asserts that the sale document states that the price of the property, $34,500, was to be paid in total by May 11.
The defendant is accused of failing to pay the balance due or any amount on the promissory note by its due date.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of profit and earnings.
Vinnet is represented by Michael D. Hannan of Metairie-based Hannan, Giusti & Hanna LLP.
The Case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
Case no. 2013-05370.
