Trip and fall case lost

Crystal Williams filed suit against the City of Gretna, Consolidated Drainage Distrcit No. 2 of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the State of Louisiana in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 26.

Williams claims she was walking on the sidewalk immediately in front of her residence located at 607 4th St. in Gretna when stepped onto a narrow pedestrian walkway bridge running over a drainage ditch. The plaintiff claims that as she was walking over the bridge she tripped and fell into the drainage ditch. Williams asserts she received serious injuries in the fall.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent damages, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and economic damages.

Williams is represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
