72883204

GRETNA – A man who allegedly broke his arm in a fall at a local casino while trying to avoid running into an employee is suing for damages.

Paul L. Wetzel filed suit against Treasure Chest Casino LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 20.

Wetzel claims that on Feb. 13 he was visiting the Treasure Chest casino located at 5050 Williams Blvd. in Kenner when he was walking down an aisle and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges that in the fall he suffered severe and disabling injuries including a broken arm that required surgery. Wetzel asserts that an employee stepped into his path, which led him to trip and fall.

The defendant is accused of allowing too many patrons into the casino, failing to keep aisles and passageways clear and failing to provide a safe place for patrons.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for medical expenses.

Wetzel is represented by Kevin C. Schoenberger of New Orleans-based Law Office of Kevin C. Schoenberger.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Ross P. LaDart.

Case no. 731-270.
