Homeowners sued by elevation company for allegedly not paying $30K debt

GRETNA – A contractor is suing a local homeowner they claim breached a contract for home elevation.

Robert Wolfe Construction Inc. filed suit against Ron Mott in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 11.

Robert Wolfe Construction Inc. asserts they entered into a contract with Mott to provide home elevation services for his home located at 120 Helen Drive in Avondale on May 9, 2011. The plaintiff claims that the defendant signed a promissory note for $30,000 towards the completion of their home elevation, which was also supplemented through funds the State of Louisiana Home Hazard Mitigation Program. However, Robert Wolfe Construction Inc. alleges Mott never made a payment on the outstanding debt despite the work being completed.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract and unjust enrichment.

Damages in the amount of $30,000 are sought by the plaintiff.

Robert Wolfe Construction Inc. is represented by Lauren E. Checki of Varadi, Hair & Checki LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
