Woman who took a midnight tumble down steps sues bowling alley

L

GRETNA – A woman who claims she was severely injured in a fall down steps at a local bowling alley is suing.

Jennifer Jaycox filed suit against AMF Bowling Centers Inc. and its insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 13.

Jaycox alleges that on midnight on Feb. 15, 2013 she was walking through the AMF premises when she fell down a set of steps. The plaintiff asserts that the steps were in a defective condition. Jaycox claims she received severe and painful injuries in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly maintain its premises, failing to warn guests, failing to adequately inspect the premises, placing guests in a perilous situation, creating a defect and failing to properly oversee employees.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, disability, loss of function, scarring and disfigurement.

Jaycox is represented by attorney John D. Sileo of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.

Case no. 735-524.
