Business sued by currency exchange companies for allegedly diverting funds

GRETNA – A pair of currency exchange companies are suing a business partner for allegedly diverting funds.

Continental Exchange Solutions Inc. and RIA Financial Services filed suit against Phone Center & Services LLC and Ana Margarita Lara Paz in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 21.

Continental Exchange Solutions Inc. and RIA Financial Services claim they entered into a contract with the defendants on Dec. 21, 2011 to execute electronic fund transfers. The plaintiffs assert Phone Center & Services LLC and Ana Margarita Lara Paz received electronic funds on their behalf as agents and that they failed to fully remit those funds.  Continental Exchange Solutions Inc. and RIA Financial Services alleges the defendants owe $13,049.13 for funds that were wrongfully withheld.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $13,049.13 plus attorney’s fees are sought by the plaintiffs.

Continental Exchange Solutions Inc. and RIA Financial Services are represented by attorney Blake E. Oakes of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
