NEW ORLEANS – A local Copeland’s restaurant is the target of a lawsuit after a woman was allegedly injured after tripping over a bucket of sand in a parking lot.
Carolyn Gaines, and husband Ferdinand, filed suit against Copeland’s of New Orleans LLC, Al Copeland Investments LLC, and their insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Jan. 31.
According to the suit, after parking in a handicapped space at Copeland’s, Gaines tripped and fell over the base of a missing handicapped sign. The plaintiff claims she injured her neck, mouth, right hand and wrist in the fall.

The plaintiff is represented by Alejandro R. Perkins of Hammonds, Sills, Adkins & Guice LLP.
