GRETNA – A local law firm is being sued by a client for legal malpractice after it allegedly abandoned her case and failed to oppose motions against her.
Gretchen Gattuso filed suit against Albert J. Nicaud, Nicaud & Sunseri LLC, Kristin J. Milano and their insurers in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 18.
Gattuso alleges that she retained Nicaud & Sunseri, Nicaud and Milano to provide her defense in a lawsuit brought against her by Federal Fibre Mills Condominium Association Inc. in the First City Court in New Orleans. The plaintiff contends the defendants abandoned matters in her case, allowed a judgment against her in matters and did not oppose actions taken by the opposing party in her case.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiff.
Gattuso is represented by attorney Francis B. Mulhall of Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
