GRETNA – A gas station customer is suing after she allegedly purchased bad gas that damaged her vehicle.

Renee E. Reynolds filed suit against Quick and Easy Deli and Grill Inc. and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 29.

Reynolds contends that she purchased gas from Quick and Easy Deli and Grill Inc. located at 701 Airline Drive in Kenner on April 26 and that shortly afterward the engine in her 2014 Chevrolet Spark began to malfunction and then stopped working, stranding her on the roadside.

Reynolds claims that other customers of Quick and Easy Deli and Grill Inc. also complained of having been sold gas with an excessive amount of water in it and that the gas station had failed to take any action to remedy the problem.

The defendant is accused of failing to exercise due diligence to ensure the integrity of their fuel, failing to exercise due diligence in the storage and delivery of their fuel, failing to provide contamination free fuel and selling contaminated fuel.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for costs of car repair, towing charges, loss of use of vehicle, diminished value of vehicle, mental distress, mental anguish and inconvenience.

Reynolds is represented by John W. Redmann of the Gretna-based Law Office of John W. Redmann LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

Case no. 742-918.
