NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing the Interim LSU Hospital following an alleged fall that caused injuries to her tailbone, arm and back.
Carolyn Campbell filed suit against University Medical Center Management Corporation in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 13, 2014.
The plaintiff asserts that on April 26, 2014, following a procedure that she underwent at Interim LSU Hospital, she fell due to slippery floors. She claims she received severe and debilitating injuries. She also claims that personnel did not place her in a wheelchair upon exit from the hospital while knowing that the plaintiff has two prosthetic legs and had just undergone medical treatment.
The plaintiff accuses the hospital of negligence in failing to properly train employees to assure the safety of patients, failing to properly maintain the premises, and failing to place the plaintiff in a wheelchair, leading to the dangerous condition.
The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount in damages for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life.
The plaintiff is represented by Metairie-based attorney A.J Rebennack.
This case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarusso.
Case no. 2014-10942.
