Major technology company claims 'questionable invoices' resulted in embezzlement

Embezzlement

NEW ORLEANS – A construction company alleges an accounting company it contracted with used “questionable invoices” to embezzle funds.

Keymel Technologies LLC and Kenner Rogers filed suit against Professional Accounting and Tax LLC (CPA’s and Accountants) and George White in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 28, 2014.

Professional Accounting and Tax LLC is located at 7080 Read Blvd. in New Orleans.

Keymel Technologies LLC is a New Orleans-based company whose primary business is selling sand, clay, limestone, asphalt and other minerals and and goods and services.

The plaintiffs say they procured a “large monetary contract” and as such needed an accountant to manage this acquisition. George White, business owner and employee of Professional Accounting and Tax LLC, was allegedly brought in to aid Keymel by providing accounting services including payment of all invoices and personal payroll obligations.

However, the plaintiffs allege that throughout this “verbal contractual agreement” many inconsistencies were noted.

“Keymel became aware of several discrepancies on record of unpaid invoices, checks made out to the defendant which were in no way attributable to the operation of Keymel, including personal payments and expenditures which are unexplained,” the lawsuit states.

The petitioners are seeking an unspecified amount in damages for mental agony, financial embezzlement, monetary loss, loss of wages, outstanding debts and attorney fees.

The plaintiffs are represented by Kevin L. James of Kevin L. James and Associates.

The case has been assigned to Div. N Judge Ethel S. Julien.

Case no. 2014-11397.
