Offshore Marine Contractors sued over injury claims following accident aboard its lift boat

A seaman is suing his former employer following injuries he sustained aboard one of its vessels.

Bradley G. Singleton filed a complaint Aug. 31 in the Eastern District of Louisiana against Offshore Marine Contractors, Inc., alleging negligence.

The complaint states that on Feb. 9, 2014, while employed by the defendant aboard its lift boat Courtney Gabrielle, Singleton experienced an accident that resulted in serious injuries to his right shoulder and other parts of his body. The complaint states that the defendant was negligent in its failure to maintain a safe place to work, among other negligent acts and omissions.

As a result of the accident, the complaint states, Singleton has experienced physical and mental pain and suffering; lost wages, benefits, and earning capacity; and has incurred medical expenses.

Singleton seeks punitive damages and benefits, plus costs of the suit.
