A Louisiana woman is suing over injuries she sustained in a vehicle collision.

Diamond Virgil filed a complaint Sept. 25 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Merrill G. Bush, McLane Trucking Inc. and the Insurance Co. of Pennsylvania, alleging negligence.

On Sept. 26, 2014, the complaint states, Virgil was driving eastbound on LA-48 and stopped for a red light at the intersection of LA-48 and Williams Boulevard when Bush's vehicle rear-ended her vehicle, pushing it into the intersection.

The complaint states that Bush, who at the time was operating in the course and scope of his employment with McLane, was negligent in following too closely, failed to exercise due care under the circumstances, and drove distractedly.

As a result, Virgil sustained bodily injuries, lost wages, medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental pain and anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life.

Virgil seeks general and special damages, plus court costs.

She is represented by James A. Hatch and Paul E. Mayeaux of Hatch Injury Law in Metairie.
