GRETNA – A construction company is suing a subcontractor it claims breached contract.

Construction & Development Group LLC filed suit against Custom Drywall & Painting LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 4.

Construction & Development Group alleges it was hired as a subcontractor to work on a home located at 210 Baronne Ave. in New Orleans. The plaintiff contends that under the contract it was to provide finishing services on the home including caulking and painting which was subcontracted to Custom Drywall & Painting. Construction & Development Group asserts that Custom Drywall & Painting held themselves out to be a professional organization but failed to properly complete the work.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract, poor workmanship, delaying the project, failing to properly complete the work and improperly invoicing the work as being completed.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiff.

Construction & Development Group is represented by attorney Denis E. Vega, of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
