Louisiana laborers sue Texas-based Coryell County Tradesmen for alleged unpaid overtime

Time

Some Louisiana-based laborers, including a painter, cleaner and sheet rocker, are suing a Texas-based company claiming that they were not paid one-and-a-half times their regular rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours a work week.

Nancy Murrillo, Evelyn Mejia, Ambrocio Benito Castro and Melchor Acevedo filed a lawsuit against Coryell County Tradesmen LLC, CC Labor, Brandon Isaacks, Brent Isaacks and Paul Isaacks in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Aug. 19, citing a violation the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The laborers are demanding a jury trial as well as the awarding of pre-judgment and post-judgment interest on all monetary amounts awarded in the action. They are also seeking judgment in the amount of all unpaid overtime wages due and owing to them as well as applicable liquidated damages.

Murillo, Mejia, Castro and Acevedo are represented by New Orleans-based attorneys Roberto Luis Costales and William H. Beaumont.
