Two former workers are suing their former employer, alleging lack of payment of federally required overtime wages.
Augustine Gomez of Odessa, Texas, and Dallas Brown, of Stillwell, Okla., individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a lawsuit Oct. 19 in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana against Supreme Service & Specialty Company Inc., alleging it failed to pay legally required overtime wages to its employees.
According to the complaint, the Gomez and Brown worked for Supreme in excess of 40 hours per week, sometimes totaling almost 80 hours per week. The suit says while the plaintiffs were compensated for additional overtime pay, the pay did not match the federally mandated 1.5 times pay required for all time in excess of 40 hours.
Gomez and Brown seek relief for themselves and all other affected employees. They seek the withheld back wages, all costs of litigation and other relief deemed appropriate by the court. They are represented by attorney Michael T. Tusa Jr. of Sutton, Alker & Rather in Mandeville.
