Couple seeks arbitration award from VSR Financial

Lawyer

NEW ORLEANS – Two residents of Jennings are seeking the court’s assistance to confirm and award them their arbitration award against VSR Financial.

Herbert Doucet and Margie Doucet filed a suit on Feb. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District Court of Louisiana against VSR Financial Services Inc., claiming that defendant has no basis to vacate the arbitration award allegedly owed to them.

The plaintiffs assert that they filed a statement of claim for an arbitration award in regards to Aucoin et al. v. VSR Financial Services Inc., Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Case number 15-00834. They claim to have filed that statement on or about April 8, 2015. VSR allegedly received the statement of claim on June 9, 2015.

According to the complaint, the arbitration hearing was held in New Orleans from Jan. 12 to Jan. 20 before arbitrators Susan Drogin, James Bolin and Dale Kaliszeski. After days of statements, testimonies and evidence, the arbitrators allegedly signed the arbitration award to plaintiffs on Feb. 4. The plaintiffs claim that VSR has failed to fulfill its obligation to them and that VSR has no grounds to vacate the award.

They are asking the court to confirm the arbitration award and enter judgment against VSR, award them court costs and expenses, and any other rewards deemed proper. They are represented by Lance C. McCardle, James R. Swanson and Lara K. Richards from Fishman Haygood LLP in New Orleans.
