Vermillion Parish couple alleges oil company caused husband's injuries

LAFAYETTE — A Vermillion Parish couple is an offshore oil enterprise, alleging negligence led to injuries.

George W. Yanna Jr. and Gloria Yanna filed a lawsuit March 28, in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana against Stone Energy Corporation, Stone Energy Offshore LLC, H&H Well Services Inc., and Wood Group PSN Inc., alleging negligence in releasing pressure from the piping in an uncontrolled manner, causing injury.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 10, 2015, George W. Yanna, Jr. suffered severe and permanent injuries as a result of an accident while working on the offshore platform. The plaintiffs allege the defendants' were negligent when releasing pressure on the piping that caused injuries to employees.

The suit says George Yanna Jr. suffered disfigurement, physical and mental pain and suffering, plus loss of wages and medical expenses.  

The Yannas seek a trial by jury, all damages, general and special, legal interest, all court costs and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by attorneys Andrew J. Quackenbos and Thomas A. Thomassie of Domengeaux, Wright, Roy Edwards & Colomb LLC in Lafayette.
