Preferred Foodservice Design/Supply Inc. claims it was never paid for work completed

GRETNA – A company is seeking damages following an incident in which its claims that it was never paid for the work it completed.

Preferred Foodservice Design/Supply Inc. filed a suit against Patriot Contracting LLC, Star Insurance Co. and Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. of America in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 29.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and defendants entered into an agreement on July 7, 2014, in which the plaintiff agreed to install and furnish food service equipment for a project. The suit states that though the plaintiff delivered the duties agreed upon, the defendants have failed to pay for the labor.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract through the failure to pay the plaintiff for the duties agreed upon, as well as unjust enrichment through their failure to pay for the work that was completed.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff represented by Mark W. Mercante and Matthew J. Guy of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell and Berkowitz of Mandeville. The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
