Jefferson Parish man alleges that a pole fell on him and injured his leg

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is seeking damages following an incident in which a pole allegedly fell on his leg, causing injury.

Michael Hall filed a suit against Bellsouth Communication Systems LLC, doing business as AT&T Communications LLC, and Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC, doing business as AT&T Louisiana in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 10.

According to the claim, Hall was working for Cable Man Inc. during the incident. On Feb. 13, 2015, the suit states that the plaintiff was removing cable lines, anchor and support wires from a utility pole at the intersection of August Lane and Jean Lafitte Boulevard. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injury when the defendants' anchor and support wire fell on top of the plaintiff's leg, ankle and foot.

The defendant is accused of failure to take the necessary steps to protect employees and exercise reasonable care.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Mary W. Russo and Dominick Impastato III of Frishhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz and Impastato of New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
