Man alleges he was injured in fall at Walmart store

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is seeking damages claiming that he was caused to slip and fall at a Walmart due to negligence.

Lawrence D. Monfra Sr. filed a suit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and ABC Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 6.

According to the claim, Monfra was a customer in the Walmart located at Barataria Boulevard in Marrero on May 10, 2015. While checking out, the suit states that Monfra slipped and fell on a substance on the ground. The fall purportedly caused the plaintiff personal injuries to his neck, shoulders, spine and back.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failure to maintain the premises in a safe manner for customers, failure to warn the plaintiff of the danger and failure to clean to the facility.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Larry C. Pieno of Marrero. The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
