Extraordinary Flooring accused of not properly installing floor

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish company is seeking damages following an incident in which it claims that floors were not properly installed.

The Stone Gallery Inc. filed a suit against Extraordinary Flooring LLC and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 26.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and defendant entered into a contract in which the defendant agreed to provide the labor and materials needed for a new floor at 5600 Mounes St. for $15,918. The suit states that the plaintiff paid a sum of $7,500 to the defendant, but soon discovered that the floor was not properly installed or prepared in February 2015. The suit further states that the defendant has failed to remedy the issue.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Michael D. Hannan and Steven M. Hannan of Hannan, Giusti and Hannan LLP in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
