Suit filed against Subway restaurant over alleged injuries

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish couple is seeking damages following an incident in a Subway in which the woman was allegedly caused to fall.

Patricia and Otis Wafer filed a suit against Sentinel Insurance Co. LTD and Ivan David Warner III, doing business as Subway, in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 9.

According to the claim, Patricia Wafer was at the Subway at 15000 N. Causeway Blvd. in Metairie when the incident occurred on June 17, 2015. The suit states that while she was on the premises, she was caused to fall due to a dangerous condition.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failure to maintain the premises in a safe manner and failure to warn customers of the danger present.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Jerome B. Moroux of Broussard & David LLC in Lafayette. The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
