Man alleges Transguard Insurance Co. did not provide to cover injuries

Car accident 19

GRETNA – An Orleans Parish man is seeking damages following an incident in which insurance allegedly failed to fully cover his damages.

Darren Banks filed a suit against Transguard Insurance Co. of America Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was operating his company's vehicle on June 23, 2014, on Interstate 10 at Veterans Boulevard when the incident occurred. The suit states that while he was driving, the plaintiff's vehicle was struck by a car driven by Christopher D. Gassar. Though the defendant provided insurance to the vehicle driven by Banks, the suit states that the insurance was insufficient to cover his emotional and physical injuries.

The defendant is accused of capricious actions in its failure to tender a reasonable amount of money for the injuries received by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Harry E. Forst of New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
