GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is seeking damages alleging exposure to hazardous material at his former job causing him medical issues.

Omar Pellerano filed a suit against Chevron USA Inc., ConocoPhillips Co., Shell Oil Co., Shell Offshore Inc., Swepi LP, Devon Energy Production Co. LP, Marathon Oil Co., BP Products North America Inc., BP America Production Co., Atlantic Richfield Co., Oxy USA Inc., Packard Pipe Terminals LLC and OFS Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 10.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was employed by AMF Tuboscope Inc. during the years of 1979 to 2004. During his employment, the plaintiff worked at a number of pipe cleaning facilities, which allegedly exposed him to radioactive scale. The defendants are liable for the damages caused to the plaintiff through failure to warn him of the dangers or provide a safe condition for working.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Jarrett Falcon, Jeremiah A. Sprague and Timothy J. Falcon of the Falcon Law Firm in Marrero. The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
