GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages, claiming that she was locked in a room and beaten.

Lorraine Loy filed a suit against Chad Arcement and Catalina Tovar and XYZ insurance company in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 17.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was invited to the residency of Arcement, located on Lake Louise Drive in Gretna, on June 17, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while the plaintiff was there, Tovar arrived, who was in a relationship with Arcement at the time. The suit further states that Tovar dragged the plaintiff into a bathroom, locking the door behind her, and proceeded to physically attack the plaintiff, causing extensive damages to the plaintiff's facial bones.

Tovar is accused of false imprisonment through her treatment of the plaintiff and Arcement is accused of negligence for failing to stop or prevent such actions from occurring.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Peter A. Barbee of Barbee & Associates in Belle Chasse. The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
