Credit union alleges Orleans Parish man owes on two loans, credit card

NEW ORLEANS – A credit union is seeking damages over claims that a client failed to make payments on time.

Navy Federal Credit Union filed a suit against Jeffrey Estiverne in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 21.

According to the claim, the plaintiff granted a loan to the defendant for a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe in 2012. The suit states that the defendant was to make payments for the amount of $524.97 each month in order to pay off the loan. The suit also stated that the defendant has thus failed to pay more than $15,000 in charges owed.

The plaintiff also claims the defendant was granted an NFCU Visa credit card and that the last payment made on its balance was in August 2015. The suit states the balance remaining on the card was $1,625.76.

The suit also states the plaintiff is seeking repayment of a personal expense loan from the defendant with a remaining balance of $1,231.58.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract through failing to make payments for the charges incurred.

The plaintiff is seeking the unpaid amounts in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Arthur S. Mann II, Earl F. Sundmaker III and Gregory J. Walsh of the Sundmaker Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
