Woman claims that she was caused to slip and fall in a Winn-Dixie, injured

GRETNA – A woman claims that she slipped and fell in a Winn-Dixie and was injured.

Liz Mitchell filed a suit against Winn-Dixie Montgomery LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 1.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the Winn-Dixie store number 1440 located at 4267 Westbank Expressway in Marrero on Sept. 1, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a slippery substance that had been left on the floor, causing her injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence through allowing the condition to exist, failing to perform routine inspections, failing to place signage warning of the condition and overall negligence in relation to the situation.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by David H. Hanchey and Kenneth Miller of Dudley Debosier in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
