After a break-in, man files suit against Southern Fidelity Insurance for allegedly failing to pay for damages

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages, claiming that his insurance provider failed to compensate him for damages following a break-in.

Charles Clark filed a suit against Southern Fidelity Insurance Company Corporation in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on August 1.

According to the claim, the defendant was the issuer of an insurance policy to the plaintiff for the insuring of the property located at 2716 South Dorgenois. The suit states that on Aug. 5, 2015 the plaintiff's home was invaded and damaged by a vandal. The suit also states that the defendant has failed to fully compensate the plaintiff for the damages suffered.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract through failing to fully pay for the value required.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Mark E. Morice.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-7684.
