Families file suit against builders, realtor for allegedly damaged and defective homes

Contract 07

NEW ORLEANS – Multiple families are seeking damages following the purchase of homes that unbeknownst to them, were allegedly in poor condition.

Stephen Kreller and Stephanie Kreller, William McLean and Katherine McLean, Michael Wayne and Ursula Wayne, and Liberty NOMA LLC filed a suit against Gekel LLC, Entablature LLC and C. Kornman LLC, doing business as Kornman Realty, in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs all entered into separate residential agreements with the defendant for the purchase of properties for their families' residences. The suit states that all of the homes sold contained extensive structural and interior damages and defects. The suit also states that the defendant has failed to take the necessary steps to restore the homes to the condition that they should have been in when purchased.

The defendants are accused of unjust enrichment, fraud and misrepresentation.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Stephen Skelly Kreller and Katie M. Cusimano.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
