NEW ORLEANS – A restaurant alleges a museum breached its contract by not offering it the opportunity to cater several events.
Purloo LLC filed a suit against SoFAB New Orleans Investments LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on April 20.
According to the claim, the plaintiff leases restaurant space in the defendant's Southern Food and Beverage museum in New Orleans. According to the suit, the terms of the restaurant lease state the defendant is obligated to offer the plaintiff the option to cater all events at the museum. The suit states that the defendant breached the contract, however, by failing to offer the plaintiff the option of catering multiple events when it should have.
The defendant is accused of bad faith breach of restaurant lease, abuse of rights, unfair trade practices and other counts.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Chad P. Morrow, James M. Garner and Ryan O. Luminais of Sher, Garner, Cahill, Richter, Klein and Hilbert in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
