NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish couple is accusing their former landlords of fraud.

Abbott S. Estrin and Deborah Perry Estrin filed a suit against George S. Kantor, Christine Gercher, G&K LLC, Wayne Wilkinson and Michael Styles in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs were interested in leasing a condo from Kantor and Gercher through listing agent Wilkinson. The plaintiffs moved in on Nov. 19, 2015, the suit states, which they later vacated because of the Kantor and Gercher's alleged conduct. The suits states that Kantor and Gercher threatened to start eviction proceedings over allegations the plaintiffs never signed a lease and also refused rent payments.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract, public humiliation and defamation.

The plaintiffs are seeking the return of the $3,000 security deposit, reimbursement for expenses from moving and making improvements to the condo, attorney's fees, and other counts. They are representing themselves.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
