Man claims that he was injured while at shopping at Kenner Walmart

GRETNA – A man claims that he was caused to fall and hit his head on the floor at a Walmart.

Ivy Batiste filed a suit against Walmart of Louisiana LLC, doing business as Walmart Store No. 1342, and John Doe in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 12.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest in the Walmart located at West Esplanade and Loyola in Kenner on June 12, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused personal injury when he was grabbed by an employee, spun into a basket and caused to strike his head on the ground after falling.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failure to properly train and supervise employees and failure to warn.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Vincent P. Scallan of Cosse Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
