GRETNA – A woman's lawsuit claims a shelf fell on her in a department store.
Claudette H. Williams filed a suit against Dillard Department Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on September 22.
According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the department store in the Lakeside Shopping Center on September 17, 2015 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused persona injury when the display shelf fell on her.
The defendant is accused of negligence through failure to take the necessary precautions to protect customers, failure to keep the store in the proper state of maintenance and overall negligence.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Randall K. Foreman.
