Chateau Orleans Inc. alleges construction caused damages

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish business alleges construction work on a neighboring property has caused it damage.

Chateau Orleans Inc. filed a suit against The McDonnel Group LLC, French Quarter Apartments Limited Partnership and ABC insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 21.

According to the claim, McDonnel Group LLC was contracted to renovate a property on Iberville Street by French Quarter Apartments. The suit states that McDonnel Group produced unreasonable amounts of noise, dust and dirt while completing the work, causing a nuisance for the plaintiff.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Leonard J. Levenson, Christian W. Helmke and Donna R. Barrios of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
