Deckhand alleges vessel's staircase caused fall, injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A St. Tammany Parish man claims that a negligently maintained staircase caused him to fall while working.

David A. Crockett filed a suit against Turn Services LLC and War Admiral LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 14.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was employed by the Turn Services aboard the vessel Whirlaway as a deckhand. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to fall down a flight of poorly maintained stairs while at work on May 22.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Hugh P. Lambert, Cayce C. Peterson, Jacki L. Smith and Morgan Embleton of The Lambert Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
