Credit Acceptance Corp. alleges man owes more than $20,000 for installment contract

GRETNA – A credit corporation is seeking damages for an allegedly open account from a Jefferson Parish resident.

Credit Acceptance Corp. filed a suit against Javier Fernandez in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 31.

According to the claim, the plaintiff issued a retail installment contract to the defendant for the purchase of a vehicle. The suit states that the defendant allegedly failed to pay more than $20,000 for the payment of a debt.

The defendant is accused of open account against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking $20,001.27 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Warren W. Wingerter Jr. and Edward F. Bukaty III in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
