NEW ORLEANS – A redevelopment authority alleges a Jefferson Parish resident purchased a property but did not fulfill the sale terms.

New Orleans Redevelopment Authority filed a suit against Geraldine Billups and John Brooks in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 3.

According to the claim, Billups acquired a property on North Miro Street in New Orleans from the plaintiff through an act of sale Aug. 29, 2008. The sales terms included that the defendant was to repair or demolish the property with 270 days of the sale date, the suit states. The defendants are accused of failure to fulfill their obligations.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. It is represented by Victoria Hines of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
