Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission claims negligent driver damaged vehicle

GRETNA – A Tangipahoa Parish woman is accused of reckless driving.

Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission filed a suit against Courtney Michele Todd and Government Employees Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 16.

According to the claim, Todd was operating a motor vehicle on Nov. 19, 2015, on Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge when the incident occurred. The suit states the plaintiff's vehicle was stopped with its warning lights on to remove debris from the road when the defendant struck the back of the plaintiff's vehicle.

The defendant is accused of negligence, failing to keep a proper lookout and for operating her vehicle in a reckless, careless and wanton manner.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Bert J. Miller and Craig Watson of Blue Williams LLP in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
